12/30/2023 0 Comments Most touchdown passes in a seasonAdd in the fact he's playing against a defense that has been strong against the pass and a team that has only once allowed him to pass for more than 350 yards, and it's hard to see him reaching Manning. Unless the Panthers turn this game into a shootout - they've averaged the 29th-fewest points per game in the NFL - there will be no reason for Brady to pass for nearly 500 yards and risk potential injury before the postseason begins. The Buccaneers are heading into this game having already locked up the division, and with a win, would finish no lower than the third seed in the playoffs. They have allowed the second-fewest passing yards in the NFL this season at 2,942. The Panthers have lost six straight games and have allowed 24.3 points per game during that stretch, but for all the woes the Panthers have had this season, allowing a lot of passing yards hasn't been an issue for them. Blaine Gabbert finished the game late at quarterback. The last time these two teams met, the Buccaneers won 32-6 with Brady only needing to pass for 232 yards. The Buccaneers are playing the Panthers at home to close out the season. However, he might not even get enough chances. Of course, if "Tom Terrific" wanted it, he could probably reach that goal and set the record. It would be foolish to say that Brady can't reach 487 yards. In fact, according to Stathead, there have only been 31 games where a QB hit at least 487 passing yards in a game. 20, 2015, when he had 466 against the Bills. His next closest passing game came on Sept. 12, 2011, when he threw for 517 yards against the Dolphins. To break Manning's record, he would need to pass for 487 yards.īrady has only once in his career passed for at least 487 yards, dating all the way back on Sept. On the year, Brady has 4,990 passing yards with 40 touchdowns, a 66.9 completion percentage and 12 interceptions. He finds himself in the midst of the 2021 NFL MVP conversation at age 44, and his Buccaneers have already won the NFC South as they look to defend their Super Bowl crown.īut the single-season passing yards record could be a bit out of reach for him in this game. It has been an incredible season for Brady. In addition to the passing yards record, Manning also set the single-season passing touchdown record, surpassing Brady's previous record of 50 touchdowns from the 2007 season with 55 scores. Manning reached 5,477 behind the eventual Super Bowl-bound Broncos. One yard to be exact.īrees passed for 5,476 yards that season, holding off Brady who had 5,235 that season (still third-most to this day), to surpass Dan Marino's 1984 record of 5,084 yards. In that MVP-winning 2013 season, Manning beat the previous record set by Brees in 2011 by the slimmest of margins. What is the single-season passing yards record? While the record, if broken, would be viewed by some with an asterisk due to the 17 games Brady had to set the record compared to Manning, who accomplished the feat in 16 games, it would still be a major achievement for the 44-year-old quarterback and could potentially open the door back up in the race for the NFL MVP award.ĭoes Brady have a chance to set the record when he and the Buccaneers play the Panthers on Sunday? Sporting News dives into the numbers. In the same season in which he surpassed Drew Brees for the all-time career passing yards record, Brady finds himself within striking distance of Manning's single-season record, potentially setting himself up to claim another record in his Hall of Fame career. Quietly in 2021, Tom Brady has approached that passing yard mark. The 37-year-old quarterback shattered both the NFL single-season records for passing yards and passing touchdowns en route to winning his fifth NFL MVP award and leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl.īut those records could be broken on Sunday. Peyton Manning had a season for the ages in 2013. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Enchanter guide torchlight iiBlunt Force (1H and 2H melee/ranged weapons) – Bonuses for bleed and critical strike stats. If you have the requisite materials, the affix will be placed on the item. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Colonel saddam hussein captureResidents of an area in Northern Baghdad, around the Adhamiya mosque, told New York Times correspondents that Hussein had visited them on April 9 to offer a farewell message. Hussein had released a video on April 4 which showed him surrounded by a throng of supporters, and it is now certain that this video was shot in the same neighbourhood bombed by the U.S. MI6 told the CIA shortly afterwards that he had left the building just before the strike hit. However, in the aftermath of the last raid, his fate was unapparent. The strike had been launched just twelve minutes after the order was dispatched and forty five minutes after the intelligence arrived in CENTCOM, Qatar - but it was apparently also unsuccessful. A sixty foot crater was left and as the area of Baghdad targetted was not under coalition control, casualties were unknown. A single B1-B bomber acted on specific intelligence and dropped four precision-guided JDAM 2,000 pound bombs, destroying the target building and others around it. Three days later on April 7, another strike was launched on the Mansour district of Baghdad. Intelligence analysts concluded that this latest video was probably made after the first night of bombings, and so it was probable Hussein was still alive. Then, on April 4, 2003, Hussein appeared again on Iraqi TV and referenced an Apache helicopter which had been shot down with an antique musket. Geoff Hoon, UK Defence Minister, claimed that Hussein had made a number of tapes for use in different eventualities, and it was still uncertain whether the tapes had been recorded before or after the decapitation strike. Hussein made another TV appearance on Maand referenced particular commanders and their locations. But, despite reports that Hussein left the scene of one of the bombings in an ambulance, he was certainly still alive. A man with the appearance of Saddam appeared on Iraqi TV at 21:00 local time, but at the time of writing it is unknown whether this was actually him or not - he wore glasses and read from notes, both of which were not usual in his TV appearances. The Pentagon said 36 Tomahawk cruise missiles and two F-117-launched GBU-27 bombs were used in the strike, which took place at 5:30AM local time - about ninety minutes after Bush's deadline for Saddam, Uday and Qusay to leave the country. While no attempt had been made on his life in the Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom opened with one - on March 20, 2003, a "decapitation strike" was launched on what President Bush called "targets of opportunity" in Baghdad. During the Gulf War he roamed the country, once staying in a tent in the middle of the desert, sometimes turning up unannounced at the houses of family members to stay a night. He reportedly never stayed in the same place twice, and had a network of bunkers and tunnels around the country which could survive even nuclear overpressures. Hussein is widely regarded as a "master of survival". In contrast, Saddam was in a residential area where it was easier to search houses and question local residents. Bin Laden is, according to officials, most likely hiding along the poorly-policed fifteen hundred mile long border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. In many ways the capture of Saddam Hussein was easier than the search for Osama bin Laden, so it wasn't just dumb luck at play. After a thirty-eight week manhunt which was awash with the latest technology and weaponry, a soldier with a spade - backed by good human intelligence - was what did the job. Previous frustrated attempts to find HusseinĪs the manhunt for Osama bin Laden had just entered its second year, the American and Iraqi publics might have been forgiven for being dubious about the possibilities of Hussein's speedy capture. |
